Back to Her Roots!

Sarah had the chance to catch up with Terri Clark this week. They touched on this amazing new tour that she’s embarking on, her incredible fan base, and just how much they mean to her, as well as some monumental career highlights.

Sarah: This style of tour is so unique to how you would normally perform live. What prompted the decision to embark on a solo acoustic tour?

Terri: I’ve never brought this show to Canada and wanted it to be right before I did. I love breaking the songs down differently and to tell the stories behind the songs. It lets me connect with the fans on a different level.
Sarah: Tours like these really showcases an artist in the traditional sense, and you’ve always had that “traditional” country sound regardless. With the current evolution of country music into a more “pop ” sound, how important is it to maintain that sound – or are you open to the new styles of country as of late?

Terri: I am open to new sounds however I can’t be disingenuous and have to be authentic and do what works for me.

Sarah: You’re very active on various social media outlets – How important is it to you to have that constant connection with them?

Terri: My fans are the best and have been with me since the beginning. They are the reason I get to live my dream so I enjoy getting to know them more and sharing life on the road with them.

Sarah: What are your plans for the rest of the year/after the tour?

Terri: After the solo tour we have a few more band shows to cap off the year and then I’m going to enjoy the holidays with friends and family…and then look towards 2017!

Sarah: One of the biggest dreams of any country artist is to be asked to join the Grand Ole Opry. Take me through the moment and what it meant to you as an artist – a Canadian artist at that!

Terri: It was one of the biggest moments of my career and having my mom there with me made it even that more special. It is an honor to be part of the Opry family and to represent Canada on the Opry stage.

Sarah: What artists are on your current playlists these days?

Terri: Jason Isbell, Brandy Clark, Holly Williams, Brandy Carlisle, Chris Stapleton
