Harbourfront Lounge at Casino, NS played host to two more country acts last night. Witchitaw performed first playing a mix of originals and cover songs. They have a Southern Rock Country sound to their music. They performed for an hour entertaining the crowd. Witchitaw was Music Nova Scotia Country album nominee. They are currently travelling the Maritimes promoting their newly Nashville recording album.
Amanda Riley stepped on stage following Witchitaw. She began her night with her powerful voice catching the audience immediately with her opening song. Riley also played a number of original songs and cover songs. She changed it up from time to time and sang songs from other genres including Ed Sheeran-Thinking out Loud. I think Riley singing this song alone without the band would have been an intimate experience as well. Riley has a strong powerful voice and is not shy in using it often belting out tunes with awesome control.
Now music must run deep in this Nova Scotia family as these two Nashville recording artists are cousins. I would love to be at one of their family kitchen parties or sitting around a campfire. If you have not seen these two perform I suggest you look out for their next performances. Please keep a watch at the lineups being announced at Casino Nova Scotia.
