NICKELBACK TO HEADLINE NIGHT 1 OF HALIFAX MUSIC FEST FRIDAY, JUNE 27 – GARRISON GROUNDS AT CITADEL HILL WITH THE GLORIOUS SONS, BIG WRECK, AND TENILLE TOWNES

(Halifax, NS) – Returning to the city for the first time since 2007, globally celebrated diamond- certified rock band Nickelback will headline the first night of Halifax Music Feston Friday, June 27, at the Garrison Grounds at Citadel Hill. The Friday lineup for the festival, which runs June 27-29, also features fellow Canadian rockers The Glorious Sons and Big Wreck, along with country singer-songwriter Tenille Townes.

General admission and VIP tickets go on sale Friday, March 7, at 10 a.m. at halifaxmusicfest.com.

With the full lineup to be announced in the coming weeks, the festival in the heart of Halifax promises a mix of national and international talent. The event is a joint venture between Halifax-based Sonic Concerts and Mighty Quinton Concerts of St. John’s.

“Halifax is a great music city, and events of all sizes play a key role in that. As the cultural and economic hub of the region, our city brings people together through unforgettable live experiences,” says Louis Thomas, President and Owner of Sonic Concerts Limited. “We’re very grateful to have been a part of it for 20 years and counting.”

A limited number of general admission single-day tickets for June 27 will be available at a special tier 1 price of $163.70, including tax and service fee, with VIP tickets also on offer. Tickets go on sale to the general public Friday, March 7, at 10 a.m. Gates open at 4 p.m., show time is 5:30 p.m.

Music Nova Scotia will receive $1 from every ticket sold to support the growth and development of local artists and the industry through education, advocacy and investment.
